Parish Promoters of Suzanne

Suzanne Aubert lived a life of heroic service and compassion. Known as a health innovator, social welfare pioneer and the founder of the Sisters of Compassion, she was a true champion for those in need.

To help all New Zealanders learn about her spirituality and good works, we need to identify parish contacts throughout the country to assist in coordinating the promotion of who Suzanne was, and what she achieved.

We need a Suzanne Promoters in each parish in the country.

What will the Parish Promoters do?

Parish Promoters will be the key contact in their local parish for the promotion of the Cause campaign. They will be a link between the Sisters and the local parish community, and will keep the parish priest and parishioners informed of Cause developments while ensuring material on the Cause is available in church foyers.

Parish Promoters will have access to prayer and spiritual reflection material, information brochures, posters and electronic material including DVDs and a PowerPoint, for screening at Masses and to other groups interested in learning more, such as CWL, SVDP, Legion or Mary, and the Knights.

Parish Promoters will also be asked to eventually coordinate a local Friends of Suzanne group when these supporters are identified probably after she is declared Venerable.

Who will look after the team?

Suzanne Promoter will be ‘fed and watered’ by the National Coordinator who will ensure they have all they need to be our point person in their parish especially as each milestone is reached. They will be our on-the-ground communicators about her canonisation progress.

Why we need Parish Promoters:

As the Cause for Canonisation grows there will be many people in each parish wanting to know more details on the progress and who will wish to be involved various ways. We already have over 500 people in this category. Some will want to join in a prayer group. Others will be keen to host a morning tea to share updated publicity material with friends as news is received from Rome and other key people.

Does that sound like?

If you would like to join the team and if you are comfortable and confident speaking at Mass and to groups when necessary, then why don’t you make contact with Sister Jo Gorman ([email protected]).

We would love to hear from you!

A nationwide network of Suzanne Aubert parish coordinators will be our on- the-ground communicators about the Suzanne Aubert canonisation process.
