Students visit Visitor Centre

There continues to be many school visits to Island Bay Visitors Centre and Crypt.

Students from years 6 to 8 at St Anne’s School Newtown visited Our Lady’s Home of Compassion recently. Students explored how at different times Suzanne Aubert was a learner and a leader and how her example is relevant to them as young people in the world today. As well as learning in the exhibition rooms, students got out and about around the grounds and finished the day with prayer, stories and waiata in the Resting Place. Visits to the Home are often a revelation, and always an inspiration, for adults accompanying students. Sara Cotterall said, “The story of Meri Hōhepa’s life and the deep spirituality of the place made a huge impression on me.”  For more information on school visits contact [email protected]
